EMTFA  is a friendly association for anyone who enjoys fishing for trout, talking about trout fishing,  tying flies, talking about tying flies, eating good food and drinking!

Autumn Bank Competition 30th October 2005 - Grafham Water.

The weather forecast for the day was wet and windy, but apart from a short heavy downpour in the afternoon the day was a fine if not a little windy. Most anglers ended up either on the Dam or in Gaynes Cove as the strong wind restricted the fishable areas. The majority of the 10 anglers who competed found it quite tough going with the rod average only 1.6.

Ray Jenkins lead the way fishing the far corner of Gaynes Cove past the Plummers car park. He caught 4 fish for 7lb 4oz. Second was Mark Burr who also fished Gaynes Cove and ended up with 3 fish for 4lb 7 oz. The killing combination appeared to be boobies and nymphs. The heaviest fish was caught by Pat Sweeney with a rainbow of 2lb 9oz.

Spring Bank Competition 10th April 2005 - Draycote Water

Anglers that fished the spring pairs at Draycote on Sunday the 10th April were treated to an excellent days sport. The 13 anglers that took part achieved a rod average of  exactly 7 .

Bill knight took his time to catch 8 fish for 17.12 oz to beat Ray Jenkins who was runner up with 16.11oz. Ray had the consolation of getting the best fish, a Rainbow of 3lb 02oz which puts him into equal top spot  with Bill. Both anglers are tied with 10 points each.

Bill Simkins put in his best ever match performance catching 7 fish.

New member Paul Jones was kind enough to let the Chairman beat him by an ounce. 'Well done Paul, that sort of respect goes a long way', says the Chairman!

Spring Pairs 8th May 2005 -Pitsford

Pitsford was cold and blustery when we visited on the 8th May for the spring pairs.

Ray Jenkins and Ray Storer found fish in Bog Bay fishing close to the Bank on Buzzers to win the pairs competition by a comfortable Margin.

The weather couldn’t dampen our spirits as we dined on smoked Salmon courtesy of Mel, Venison Burgers and Sausages Courtesy of Tony Deighton and Burgers and Sausages courtesy of Iceland.

As Always Nathan Kay and the Staff at Pitsford went out of their way to look after us.

Thanks go to everyone involved.
